Understanding your brainA space to feel heard, understand your patterns, and make room for the life you want. Therapy for adults navigating ADHD, trauma, and sexual health.
You don't need a perfect explanation of what you're feeling. We can start with what's showing up in your life.
When getting started feels harder than it should, overwhelm builds, or your brain takes the scenic route. Explore patterns and practical ways to work with your attention, emotions, and everyday demands.
Understanding your brainPast experiences can shape how you feel in the present. Therapy offers room to explore their impact, build coping skills, and move at a pace that respects your readiness.
Room to reconnectYour questions about sex, intimacy, desire, and boundaries deserve a thoughtful conversation. Explore what matters to you in a space grounded in respect, consent, and your own values. I welcome people in kink communities, people in polyamorous and other consensually non-monogamous relationships, and sex workers.
Sexual & relationship diversity
I'm Brandee, the therapist behind Purple Coffee Therapy. I am licensed in Texas, Utah, and Washington. I offer online therapy for adults navigating ADHD, PTSD, and sexual health concerns.
Therapy is a place to get curious about your experiences, talk about what feels difficult, and explore changes that fit your life. Your goals, your perspective, and your pace belong in the conversation.
My approach brings together practical skills, reflection, and respect for your autonomy. I draw from CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, Jungian shadow work, and humanistic and feminist perspectives. I am also trained in EMDR.
My practice affirms sexual and relationship diversity, including kink, polyamory, and consensual non-monogamy. Sex workers are welcome. You deserve respectful support without assumptions about your identity, relationships, or work.
Confession: I didn’t plan to become a therapist.
I went into social work because I wanted to get into politics and change policies to help people. A professor encouraged me to take the clinical licensing exam anyway: “You never know what the future holds.”
I took it. Passed. Started practicing. And found myself feeling surprisingly at home.
People felt comfortable with me, and I discovered how much I loved this work. The career I hadn’t imagined became work I feel deeply passionate about. I still care about changing systems—and I love helping people find their voice within them.
Sessions with me have room for humor, honesty, and the occasional well-placed swear word. You don’t have to censor yourself, sound polished, or arrive with an organized list of feelings.
If you’ve ever felt like the black sheep of your family—or have a few middle-child grievances—we may have plenty to talk about.
I also have ADHD. If you’ve heard “Focus,” “Get to the point,” or “Where are you going with this?” more times than you can count, take a breath. I’m comfortable following a conversation down a few side roads and helping us find the connections.
Life doesn’t pause between appointments. Sometimes we’ll focus on deeper work; sometimes something happened Tuesday that needs our attention first. We can make room for both while staying connected to your goals.
And if you show up thinking, “I don’t even know what I have to talk about today,” that’s okay. You don’t need to prepare a presentation. We’ll find a place to start together.
I practice ethical non-monogamy myself and welcome conversations about relationships that don’t follow a traditional script.
I’m politically active, care about advocacy, and once ran for mayor. I didn’t win, but apparently my original interest in politics wasn’t going anywhere. I can get enthusiastic about issues that matter to me; our sessions, though, are about your experiences, values, and goals.
Outside the therapy room, you’ll find me playing poker, watching documentaries or true crime, taking a walk, or heading toward just about anything involving water.
Purple is my favorite color. Coffee is my favorite drink. Naming a practice doesn’t always need to be more complicated than that.
But “Fill your cup. Heal your soul.” means something deeper to me.
So many people I work with—especially women—have become experts at making sure everyone else is okay while putting their own needs last. I help people make room for themselves: their boundaries, desires, rest, and priorities.
You can care deeply about others and make yourself a priority. Your cup deserves attention, too.
If you’re ready to explore what that could look like, I offer a free 15-minute consultation so we can see whether we’re a good fit for you and your journey.
Ask about a free consultationI draw from several approaches, shaped around your goals, preferences, and what feels useful to you.
My work draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), with room to explore thoughts, emotions, behavior, coping skills, and relationships in everyday life.
Mixed feelings about change are welcome. I use Motivational Interviewing (MI) to explore what matters to you, what holds you back, and the next steps you want to choose.
I incorporate shadow work informed by the teachings of Carl Jung: reflective exploration of parts of yourself you may have learned to hide, reject, or judge. There is room for curiosity and self-understanding.
Your experience, values, and capacity for growth guide our work. I bring a humanistic perspective that makes room for you as a whole person.
We can examine how power, gender expectations, culture, and social pressures shape your experiences—and explore what autonomy, boundaries, and choice mean in your life.
I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). We can discuss whether this approach fits your goals and readiness.
For the women questioning the rules, outgrowing expectations, or tired of being told to be smaller, quieter, and easier to accommodate: you are welcome here.
There is room for your anger, ambition, softness, sexuality, uncertainty, and the parts of you that don’t fit someone else’s script. We can explore whose expectations you’ve been carrying, what you want to keep, and what you’re ready to put down.
You don’t have to arrive fearless or have rebellion figured out. You can start with wanting something different.
